Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage strategies and budget, in coordination with the Marketing Supervisor, for community partnerships, sponsorships and initiatives that are aligned with Meritus CU strategic business objectives and are of high-impact and visibility.
- Actively represent Meritus CU at community, non-profit and sponsorship events.
- Identify, recommend, negotiate and implement sponsorship and community event opportunities ensuring alignment with brand, goals and budget.
- Promote the benefits of Meritus CU membership through informative and persuasive presentations at schools, organizations, businesses, and events to increase acquisition of new members, loans and deposit accounts.
- Coordinate the review and resolution of Meritus CU giving and sponsorship requests.
- Identify, build and maintain positive relationships with community-based, charitable, and non-profit organizations, chambers of commerce and business associations, business partners and the credit union school ambassador program including regular communications and collaborating on partnership opportunities.
- Ensure that all community outreach activities, events, sponsorships, presentations, appearances, program impacts and budget are accurately tracked, analyzed and reported.
- Identify mechanisms to measure direct and indirect impact of community relations initiatives on engagement, strategic objectives, and brand enhancement.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop supporting materials to advertise and promote the credit union at external presentations and events.
- Work with the Marketing team to effectively promote community involvement and expand reciprocal social media exposure with community partners.
- Serve as the main contact for non-profits and community organizations requesting community service assistance from the credit union, including volunteers or sponsorship.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to facilitate and coordinate employee volunteer program.
- Assist in promoting and tracking all internal credit union employee giving campaign efforts.
- Maintains an understanding of the Credit Union's products, services, policies and procedures.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Work Environment: - Position requires occasional driving to perform job duties at a credit union branch or remote location. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance is required.
- Weekend, evening hours and travel required.
- Extensive use of a desktop computer and/or laptop is required
Salary Range: $55,000-$80,000
Qualifications:
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing or business administration is preferred, but must have a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent training or work experience in this area.
Experience:- Minimum of two years of similar or related experience.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, projects and information simultaneously.
- Must be comfortable speaking and presenting to small and large groups, from presentations to community events.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:- Work required includes physical activity including lifting, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
- Required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
