Positions are responsible for assisting the Lafayette Consolidated Government Community Development Department with acceptance and review of Small Business Recovery Program grant applications, and subsequent tracking for program compliance. Examples of work assignments include but are not limited to: review of business recovery program applications for initial eligibility; engaging with applicants to provide details on the programs and/or request additional documentation; creating and maintaining case notes and application files; presenting information orally and in writing to supervisors and the Loan Review Committee to assist with final eligibility determinations and funding decisions; and following up with awardees to collect proof of eligible program expenditures.
Professional experience requiring strong reading comprehension, substantial written and oral communication, records maintenance, attention to detail, and experience or education in accounting or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which includes proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, desired. Experience in grants or contract administration, including some work experience performing basic accounting strongly desired. This is a project appointment lasting up to 9 months, with some available flexibility in hours worked and scheduling. Rate of pay is $15.00/hour.
