Business Development Manager/Wind & Solar
The primary role of the BDM is to direct and control the corporate sales and marketing matters including internet, marketing support, promotional efforts, and channels of communications with potential and current clients and overall direction of the sales efforts for the company with respect to Wind and Solar Energy clients. The position is a full time, salaried position, that is eligible for benefits.
i. Leads in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a strategic marketing plan for the sector.
ii. Reports weekly to the VPO as to the quantity and quality of the sales and marketing effort.
iii. Establish, measure and maintain sales and marketing goals and quotas.
iv. Coordinate sales and marketing activities with the administrative and operational departments of the company.
v. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the various marketing strategies.
vi. Plans and manages participation in various industry trade shows, community or industry and association events and other related activities, as approved by the VPO.
vii. Maintains an up-to-date library of training and promotional items, media releases and other related marketing tools.
viii. Respects and maintains the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information that he/she might gain from this position.
ix. The BDM is selected by the VPO and is delegated the authority to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position including, but not limited to:
1. Contact potential customers, provide quotes as needed and solicit business.
2. Entertain potential customers and existing accounts within the budget established by the VPO and the policies of the clients served.
3. Maintains and updates company’s client and contact data base.
Preferred: Degree in Marketing, Accounting, Business or related Discipline.
At least five (5) years of industry experience in field site operations – both on and offshore sales & marketing / job price quoting / operations management experience in a related busines
i. Use creative, analytical, and observational skills, which demonstrate the ability to set, adjust and maintain a course or direction.
Ii. Understanding of the sales process, and the ability to maintain a CRM record of activities, pending proposals, leads, deals, and production of weekly reports that support activities, and allow clear measurement of KPI’s.
Iii. Requires the ability to envision and develop strategies for new and changing markets. Statistical and analytical knowledge using general business math skills. Language requirements are reading, writing, and the ability to communicate clearly on all levels.
Iv. Able to work alone, remote, self-directed, remote with robust support as needed from the Main Office team.
