Position Description:

  • CGI has an immediate need for an Assistant Program Manager to join our financial services team in Columbia, SC; Lafayette, LA or Reston, VA.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the secondary mortgage industry.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the Sr Director and other Directors in all aspects of program planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, establish priorities, and define deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentation slides and status reports and be comfortable to present in front of senior management
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing any issues that may impact project timelines or quality
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, workshops, and other project-related activities, ensuring effective participation and collaboration among team members.
  • Work with the Project Managers to eliminate blockers
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance test.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project objectives.
  • Conduct research and gather relevant data to support decision-making and program improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to program management.


Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in project coordination or program management roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all project-related tasks.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Trello.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suits - Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving project goals.


Desired Skillset

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field
