Position Description:

  • CGI is looking for an API Developer who is skilled working on Kong API Gateway.
  • This role can be performed in Lafayette, LA


Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • We are looking to hire a Kong- API Developer to work within a dynamic team!
  • The Candidate will be working amongst our highly motivated team, in a fast-paced environment that works with business and Technology stakeholders collaborating on complex solutions that focus on maximizing Customer value.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum 8 plus years of IT experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hand on experience working in Kong API Gateway
  • Hand-on experience in installing and configuring Kong API Gateway and integrating with existing APIs.
  • Experience working on Kong with Openshift and configurations.
  • Excellent knowledge about API design standards patterns, open API specifications, and best practices especially Swagger and OpenAPI 2.0, REST, JSON, XML
  • Experience in maintaining the public API specification and documentation using the KONG Developer portal
  • Good Understanding of platform to monitor and Debug any platform or application issues.
  • Experience of automating Kong API gateway configurations as part of DevOps pipeline
  • Proven skill in implementing APIs that are consumed by web applications and mobile native applications
  • Good knowledge of Okta/OAuth/OIDC - token-based authentication protocol
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructures is good to have.
  • Experience with Application Security considerations; including knowledge of Industry standards and trends.
  • Good understanding of the conceptual and physical design of application integration using APIs and events
  • Knowledge of the following is mandatory: Java, APIs, web services, microservices
  • Knowledge and experience of the following tools are preferred: Rest Assured, Jmeter, Junit, Postman, Git, Jira & Confluence
