LEDA Virtual Job Fair


Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.

In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.

Position: Bookkeeper

Plans, coordinates and administers the general bookkeeping and accounting programs in support of the agencies daily operations.  Supports the Executive Director in preparing the agency’s annual budget, handles payables, payroll and related tax payment/reports and   requests for expense reimbursement from various funding sources. 

General bookkeeping duties include but not limited to:  weekly payables and deposits; biweekly payroll and payroll taxes; biweekly update and distribution of time sheets for the following payroll, etc.; in conjunction with the Executive Director, monthly bank reconciliation; etc

Work with external auditors and the Board of Directors to develop and maintain bookkeeping practices in accordance with non-profit accounting standards to ensure prudent organizational financial stewardship Prepare and ensure monthly grant reimbursements requests are submitted in a timely manner.

Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and for Board of Director meetings.

Ensure monthly quarterly payroll taxes and reports are completed.

Responsible for financial portion of quarterly and/or annual reports to various grant funding agencies.

Annual preparation of W2 and 1099 forms and associated reports.

Assist with annual preparation of budget and spreadsheets for classification and dispersal of funding

Assist with annual financial audit performed by CPA.

Assist Executive Director with Human Resource tasks necessary to complete for new hires as well as resigning/terminated employees.

Monitor Lafayette branch office petty cash account and replenish as needed.

Monthly monitoring of Lafayette branch office “book bag.”

Maintenance of fixed assets/inventory list for audit purposes. 


Education:  A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, associates’ degree certification in Bookkeeping or a related field is preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience:  Five or more years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (preferred non-profit), education, and administration in corporate or community sectors is preferred.  Experience specifically in non-profit programs, grants, and human resources is desired.

Other:  Position requires creativity, results-oriented and self-motivation.  Demonstrated ability to work with staff, volunteers and external groups in the community is preferred.  Demonstrated organizational skills, flexibility, ability to work on own initiative within assigned parameters, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication (including presentation) skills, computer skills including use of internet/intranet, word processing, database and/or spreadsheet applications is required.
