LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: IT Technician

Job Summary:
The IT Technician will troubleshoot and maintain the organization’s network systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Computer hardware upgrades and repairs
• Installs and maintains peripheral devices including computers, printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
• Monitor and ensure patch management and anti-virus protection applications are applied to all applicable network devices
• Maintain network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware and related network software and applications.
• Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
• Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.
• Maintains email and other programs/services, adding and removing users and accounts.
• Collaborates with network administrator to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes.
• Support local networks including network printers, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, file sharing, etc.
• Support Windows servers including Domains, Active Directory, Group Policies, Remote Desktop, Windows Registry, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities: 
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of existing network programs and capabilities.
• Excellent workstation and network troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Knowledgeable of Virtual Systems (vmWare), Sonciwall firewall and CISCO routers/switches
• Knowledgeable of network cabling and termination (infrequently)
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other network protocols
• Conscientious of information security 

Education and Experience:
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• At least three years of experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.
• A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.

Physical Requirements: 
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
• May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of network malfunction.
