LEDA Virtual Job Fair

In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: Risk Manager, Property/Liability Program

Investigate, evaluate and recommend insurance programs to cover all of the entities, personnel and volunteers of the Diocese for property, liability, workers’ compensation and other risk related issues.
 Analyze and assess loss information to identify higher risk locations and leading loss drivers with the goal of controlling losses, reducing claims and creating a culture of awareness by conducting on site risk assessment inspections and targeted workshops
 Collaborate with legal and insurance professionals and consultants, to review contracts and proposals, and interpret diocesan and civil regulations and policies
 Work with partner insurance carrier to implement appropriate safety and inspection program in an effort to prevent and reduce overall loss experience
 Work with all diocesan locations to procure the appropriate information needed to renew existing coverage on an annual basis and ensure the accurate and adequate issuance of Certificates of Coverage for all entities and personnel of the Diocese.
 Assist all entities in the diocese with understanding and obtaining adequate insurance coverage of contractors conducting business on site as well as Certificates of Insurance naming their location and the Diocese as additional insureds.
 Coordinate with the various offices and entities of the Diocese of Lafayette to maintain a property schedule and payroll data to communicate appropriate information to the insurance company.
 Work with partner insurance carrier to identify and implement appropriate risk management programs for the Diocese and locations seeking continual improvement
 Provide advice and guidance in the procurement of insurance for the Diocese by doing an analysis of the various financial options for insurance and self-insurance, completing underwriting applications to procure said insurance, and allocate the insurance premium to Diocesan entities
 Work with appropriate insurance brokers regarding the placement of the Worker’s Compensation Fund and flood policies

Qualifications:

 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Must maintain up-to-date personal certification for diocesan Safe Environment program.
 Proficient in current computer system(s), including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and
other software used to evaluate and report loss control information
 Advanced spreadsheet application skills
 Assist pastors and principals and other constituents in the quick, adequate and satisfactory
settlement of claims and potential risk issues by standing as their representative and partner so as to
build bridges and avenues for excellent communication and cooperation
 Strong supervisory, organizational, leadership and communication skills.
 Ability to work collaboratively and compassionately with other Central Office Directors and staff
members, as well as clergy, lay personnel and volunteers throughout the Diocese.
 Ability to take initiative and to see projects through to completion.
 Minimum of Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
 Minimum five years of progressive related experience, in property and casualty insurance with a
sound background in safety and risk management, preferably in a non-profit/religious environment.
 ARM (Associate in Risk Management), ALCM (Associate in Loss Control Management), or CSP
(Certified Safety Professional) designation preferred.
