LEDA Virtual Job Fair


Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.

In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.

Position: Planner II

Positions in this class are members of the comprehensive planning staff, which is responsible for long-range planning and strategic planning and the implementation of the comprehensive plan, PlanLafayette. Incumbents are responsible for working on specific elements of PlanLafayette, which include capital improvements, land use, drainage, housing, neighborhood planning, etc. Under general supervision, the Planner II works on a wide variety of professional planning projects including but not limited to: policy development; review and updating of the zoning map; data collection and mapping, interpretation and presentation; cross departmental coordination; and monitoring/implementation of action items. Current position focuses on implementing a future land use plan and analysis of current zoning and its conformity with the plan. Attention will be given to the functionality of the Unified Development Code and its ability to implement the comprehensive plan. Day to day, this position focuses on coordination, research, analysis and recommendations related to requests for rezonings and serving as secretary to the Zoning Commission. Future openings may have other areas of specialization in accordance with action items in the comprehensive plan. 


Strong verbal, written and organizational skills ideal. Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or closely related field plus two years of work experience in planning desired. Experience in long range planning preferred.
