LEDA Virtual Job Fair


Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.

In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.

Position: Assistant Director

The Assistant Director will help the Director manage the daily operations of the Blanco Center and contribute to developing the research and outreach dimensions of the center. The Center will maintain a core research staff as well as collaborate with faculty across a range of departments on campus as well as institutions across the state and beyond. In addition, the Center will host events and develop programming to aid in disseminating research findings to policy makers and the public. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to help organize the Center’s research, plan events, develop programs and represent the Blanco Center at meetings with external partners and research sponsors. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring workflow across projects and staff to help maintain a productive research environment
  • Simultaneously initiating and managing multiple research projects within the center
  • Help identify new grant opportunities and contribute to developing proposals
  • Planning and organizing events

Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Sociology, or related field, exceptional written and oral communication skills, advanced analytical skills, and strong computer software skills (including by not limited to Microsoft Office). The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively in teams. In addition, candidates must demonstrate a high degree of competency in project management and creativity in problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:
Highly competitive candidates will have a master’s degree in a policy-related field and high-level experience in statistical software packages such as STATA, R, SAS, and/or SPSS. Experience working in ArcGIS is also desired. Preferred candidates will also have prior research and supervisory experience and demonstrate a high level of competency in leadership.
