Position: Survey Technician

Fenstermaker is currently seeking a Survey Technician for the Lafayette, LA office. Under supervision of a Licensed Surveyor or Senior Survey Technician, the candidate performs surveying and mapping duties for oil & gas and/or government related projects and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. 
- Sets up jobs for drafting, instructs draftsman, and reviews plats upon completion.
- Sets up project field work and provides crew with “Info-Pac” (packet containing all the required information for the field crew to perform specific project).
- Provides guidance and / or direction to the field survey crews during the data gathering and staking process.
- Inputs deeds and plats required for a project into CAD software for analysis.
- Process field data and prepare upload file for importing.
- Provides and receives specific project information to and from clients under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
- Travel/Temporary relocation required.


Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent coursework in survey related field, drafting and design related field
Experience: 1-2 years of job related experience
Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design/CAD software; Internet software (Internet Research, Intranet Applications, etc.); Spreadsheet software and Word Processing (Ultra Edit, Word Pad, etc.) software.
