LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: Support Coordinator

Positions allocated at this level tend to focus on numerous examples of work as listed below:
Ensure the completion of the daily administrative and operational support actives necessary for proactive area economic development efforts. 
Performs responsible departmental program duties in accordance with rules, regulations, and policies. May involve communication with other stakeholders, customers, etc.
Processes routine paperwork, assists with billing functions, enters data into CRM and helps to resolve inquires by individuals with challenges, or interests in learning more about the area.
May serve as lead worker over projects and the contracts associated with various types of development projects. 
May be asked to help prepare and with updating automated web-based platform resources. 
Compiles information from various sources and prepares specialized reports; formats reports according to the specific needs of various SLED Boards.
Serves as clerical assistant to the CEO/Director, which could include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the CEO/Director of certain administrative matters.
Assist the CEO/Director in the development of an annual work program and maintains work effort by helping to coordinating to set, schedule and confirm attendance to board and committee meetings.  
Prepare meeting minutes and effectively relay information and communication to board members within the SLED Group Board Umbrella
Sets up or removes display boards and special presentation areas to present materials and information on St Landry Parish. Meets scheduling and attendance requirements.
May be asked to perform duties related to traditional administrative functions, such as property control, purchasing, and safety, in addition to other clerical duties.

Qualifications:

Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree. Previous verified employment in a professional-level capacity. 
Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License by hire date
Proficiency in the use of computer software programs (example: word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, CRM, Skype, Zoom) and the Internet is preferred. Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree. 
Must have a great attitude but be humble and passionate about making a positive difference for others. Must be a committed team player that is organized and is willing to put in the time and effort necessary to grow as a professional. Must be trustworthy and an effective communicator. Must participate in preparing memos, detailed analytical documents, management reports, and project status reports to communicate program success. Would be responsible for the completion of the daily administrative and operational support actives necessary for operating the various components of economic development. Should have an interest and commitment to learn and apply marketing and public relations strategies and techniques. 
Manual/Physical: Operates a motor vehicle requiring a standard Louisiana Driver's License. The position in primarily indoors and does not require excessive physical exertion or lifting of heavy items.

Position is salaried and will be funded at competitive rate based on experience, qualification, and education. The primary work office is based in Opelousas.
