LEDA Virtual Job Fair


Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.

In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.


1. Inspects, tests, and repairs electrical lighting, signal, communication or power circuits, and equipment.  Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, land other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances as required.  Competently replaces such defective mechanical parts as gears, bushings, bearings, and such related electrical parts as brushes, armatures, commutators, transformers; assembles components according to diagrams.
2. Competently isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing equipment such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler, etc.
3. Accurately installs new wiring and electrical machinery; studies blueprints/diagrams to determine layout, location, and specifications of items to be installed.
4. Competently mounts motors, transformers, light fixtures on other equipment into correct position; completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
5. Demonstrates ability to periodically test biomedical and electrical equipment which is used on or with a patient, such as; isolation transformers in ICU, floor conductivity in such areas as Surgery, etc.  Checks beds for electrical leakage.  Checks electrical cords and sockets to ensure the integrity of various regulatory and examining agency standards.


1. Graduate of a technical school with specific training in an electrical discipline.  Equivalent to an associate technical degree.
2. Five years’ experience as a journeyman electrician with specific experience as described in the position description.
3. A licensed journeyman electrician is preferred.
