Position: Cyber Security Adjunct Instructor (SLCC)

SLCC’s Corporate College is seeking a highly skilled Instructor for our Cyber Security Certificate program. An Instructor conducts activities which directly support instruction, the objectives of the program, and the instructional goals of the institute.
An Instructor is principally charged with presenting prepared materials, supervising organized laboratory or shop activities, maintaining order, recording student progress, and assuring the presence of adequate supplies and equipment to conduct the laboratory or shop activities in a safe and effective manner.
Prepare, update, and deliver materials (course outlines/syllabi, lectures, laboratory training aids) for technical, hands-on, instruction.
Communicate with students and colleagues to ensure efficient and effective instruction. 
Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.
Participate in student recruitment, advising, and mentoring.
Evaluate the progress and performance of students.
Enforce departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab; recommend student counseling, probation, or dismissal when necessary.
Teach subject material to students in various formats to accommodate different learning styles.
Creates a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.
Participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

Current Cisco CCNA
CCNA Security desirable
Protocols such as DHCP, IP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, STP, RSTP, VTP, IPS, IDS, and DNS
Linux and Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
Computer forensics
Computer security
Network techniques, both physical and virtual
Experience working with Web 2.0 tools
Cisco CCNA certificates or able to complete relevant Cisco CCNA certificates within 12 month of hiring
Understanding of tools used for digital forensics
Familiarity with virtualized networks
Have working knowledge of Competency Based Education
Working knowledge of modern infrastructure/public cloud computing (AWS) and legacy infrastructure (local, private, hyperconerged, NFV)
Have knowledge of security regulatory standards, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) qualifications, National Initiative for Cyber Security Education (NICE) and Department of Defense (DOD) standards
Have knowledge of digital forensics in both legacy and modern infrastructure and implementations
Have experience with modern personal/desktop infrastructure such as DaaS/PCoIP implementation
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
Understanding the best practices associated with online pedagogy and course design
Understanding of accessibility and universal design
• Ability to work well in a team with individuals from different disciplinary backgrounds and with varying levels of technological experience
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Critical thinking and problem solving
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate workload
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
Associate’s degree in an Information Technology field is required; 
Three years minimum hands on experience.
• Online teaching experience is preferred.
