In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.

Position: Director of Center for Professional Development (SLCC)

This position is responsible for the development, management, coordination, collaboration, and tracking of all activities related to professional development across the college. In addition to understanding effective, research-based professional development standards and delivery methods, the Director of the Center for Professional Development will demonstrate knowledge of the skill necessary to meet the needs of diverse learners. This position is responsible for implementing programs and services that will enhance organizational effectiveness, improve operational performance, and increase employee retention through new or improved organizational development initiatives.

 • Evaluate professional development needs for classified, unclassified, management, and administrative employees through assessment, needs analysis, surveying, and consultation with appropriate parties. 

• Facilitate collaboration and communication among all relevant parties relating to the development of professional development priorities, plans, and programs. 
• Collaborate interdepartmentally with other employees responsible for coordination of professional development activities across the college. 
• Oversee the implementation of all training material and logistical requirements associated with professional development events and activities including schedules, staffing, publicity, rooms, supplies, and equipment. 
• Facilitate the use of a broad range of traditional and technology approaches such as formal group and individual training, coaching, web-based programs, e-Learning systems, pod casts, and interactive video into the professional development program. 
• Develop content and materials and present professional development workshops to groups of varying sizes on a variety of soft skills topics such as effective communication, collaboration, professionalism, creative problem solving, coaching and mentoring, adapting to change, and customer service. 
• Serve as a resource by researching and disseminating information regarding new and emerging technologies that support organizational development and professional development and learning. 
• Plan, design, and implement customized activities focused on work environment improvement, including leadership development, coaching and training, surveys and feedback instruments, and team building.

 • Develop and monitor systems to track professional development events, activities, and participation. 

• Establish learning objectives and goals for all services and initiatives. 
• Develop methods and tools, collect data, and evaluate the effectiveness of professional development activities and participation. 
• Prepare reports and recommendations related to outcomes and possible improvements.


• Experience in a higher education setting with employee development focus.
Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills and communication skills, both oral and written. 
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. 
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and supervise staff in order to develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, work standards, and internal controls. 
Principles of budget development and monitoring including development of control measures to remain within budget. 
Knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis/evaluation techniques to develop reports in narrative and statistical form, preparation of proposals and grants, and creation of executive level presentations.
Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Organizational Development, Educational Leadership, Organizational Management, Personnel 
Management, Public Administration, Training and Development, Instructional Design, or a related field. 
Minimum of 5 years of experience in formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to training and development, instructional design and delivery, training coordination or related occupation. 
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. 
Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet 
A high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required with the ability to learn and efficiently utilize 
various case management software programs.
