Position: Technical Writer/BA (CGI)

The Emerging Technologies Practice (ETP) at CGI Federal is looking for a Business Analyst / Technical Writer to join a dynamic team working in a fast-paced and innovation-driven environment. The candidate will be working with the CGI Federal ETP and all of our customer-focused business units to support the effective and professional solution response and technical writing / collateral development capabilities of our ETP Business Engineering organization.
The successful candidate will be process-oriented, conceptually driven, mission-focused, and possess the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively in a highly technical setting. He/she will be responsible for providing professional and effective technical writing and business analyst functions to internal and external client organizations, while supporting the overall quality and content of our messaging and capabilities repository. The successful candidate will be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with little to no guidance and make recommendations on how to best structure technical documentation or reports to achieve stated goals. Additionally, the ability to quickly learn how to triage deal support by pattern or solution recognition for further evaluation by solution architects is a key differentiator.

Qualifications:

• The primary responsibility for this position is writing technical responses to RFIs, RFPs, etc and tailorable content for cloud and cyber security opportunities in support of CGI Federal business units as well as our commercial and international business units.

• Provide requirements traceability matrices for opportunities for compliance and response quality.

• Meet with principal leadership and attend technical meetings and demonstrations in order to gather project information

• Understand work plan activities, prioritize and provide accurate status on work.

• Attend and contribute to client and internal meetings.

• Work with the Business Engineering team to manage the standardization of all templates for the opportunity support process including the process to handoff to delivery.

• Assist Business Engineering and finance in the definition of product capabilities and labor category descriptions for various rate card / schedule development.

• Establish and mature the catalog repository of various business development support collateral

• Familiarity with CRM products including the ability to develop opportunity reports

• Develop appropriate search terms for use against various government and commercial opportunity websites

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Excellent written/verbal communication and relationship building skills.

• A strong command of the English language, with experience using industry-standard style guides.

• Attention to detail.

• Significant experience in writing and editing technical documentation, such as concepts of operations, architecture guides, software design specifications, white papers, and proposals.

• Ability to collaborate with programmers, engineers, architects, graphic designers, and project managers during the design phase to gain an understanding of an opportunity and communicate with account teams with some technical acuity.

• Ability to create a software user manual by using and learning the application, including capturing screen shots, and user workflows.

• Experience in shadowing and interviewing developers, engineers, architects and analysts to understand process, technology and repeatable tasks and document them for end-users.

• 1 to 3 years’ experience performing business analyst and reporting functions.

• Experience working on large integrated project teams following structured methodologies for project management, business process transformation, and organizational change management.

• Familiar with industry standards for quality and delivery such as ISO, CMMI, and ITIL

• Experience in developing and delivering technical training a definite plus.

• Basic understanding of cloud architecture, cyber security, software development processes, modern architecture paradigms and programming.

• Proven ability to work independently and with others depending on the assigned tasks.

• Proven ability to produce quality deliverables within aggressive timelines.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

• Ability to clearly and concisely organize a lot of information in very clear and understandable documentation.

Due to the nature of government contracts, US citizenship is required.

• Advanced level of expertise in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe and other document publishing technologies

• Experience with collaboration tools like Atlassian tools, SharePoint, etc.

• Technical background is a huge plus
