Position: Social Media & Public Relations Specialist

Potenza Inc is seeking a Social Media & Public Relations Specialist to fill an immediate full-time opening at our Lafayette office. The ideal candidate for this role will have at least two years of relevant experience and expertise in social media marketing and effective public relations. Special consideration will be given to those with previous experience working in an advertising/marketing agency setting. The SM/PR Specialist is responsible for creating and combining powerful, results-driven social media strategies with effective, reputation-building PR campaigns to serve and help grow our diverse portfolio of agency clients.


Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Mass Communications, or related discipline [or 5+ years of relevant work experience]
3+ years of experience in marketing, social media, advertising, and/or public relations. 
Strong project management and follow-through 
Strategic, solutions-based thinking capabilities
Strong multitasking skills; able to perform under pressure and in fast-paced environments
Exceptional communication skills, particularly written communication including excellent spelling, grammar, vocabulary, etc.
Proven track record developing & delivering results-driven social media and public relations campaigns 
Job Responsibilities: 

Creating unique, engaging social media content for a variety of audiences
Developing & managing effective strategies across various platforms to grow following & increase engagement on social media
Maintaining an extensive and ongoing understanding of the ever-changing social media trends and best practices
Tracking and reporting all campaign efforts and results
Preparing reports and maintaining documentation regarding job activities 
Creating and overseeing powerful Public & Media Relations campaigns including: writing & disseminating well-written press releases, managing a comprehensive list of key local & national media contacts, fostering strategic relationships with community and media partners to achieve campaign goals, etc.
Planning and overseeing special events and philanthropic efforts
Cultivating stories from all offices to pitch to media
Working with internal team of creative, marketing, and media experts to proactively forecast and exceed our clients' objectives and expectations
