LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: Software Engineer (CGI)

     

The successful candidate will have experience within an agile environment and will enjoy working with: Java 8+; Python; PostgreSQL; geospatial software development; RESTful services; cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

We are looking for a team member who is familiar with:

• Working on interdisciplinary teams;

• Owning user stories and working independently;

• Troubleshooting and working within a team structure of 5 team members to take initiative and meet project goals

• Unit testing work

• Deploying into a pipeline

• Being client-facing

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 to 5 years OO development experience, Java 8+, Spring, Python, RESTful services, Cloud: deploying services in AWS or other cloud environments, including AWS certification (any level). Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Agile/Scrum experience
SAFe agile.
Diverse development skills in C/C++, JavaScript, Ruby, Angular a plus.
Geospatial software development: JAI, GeoTools, JTS, GEOS, GDAL/OGR, PostGIS.
PostgreSQL, Spring boot, Cloud Foundry, Eureka, Kibana, ActiveMQ, IntelliJ, Jenkins. UIs: Angular 2+, TypeScript, Node.js, Bootstrap.
Ability to understand requirements and user stories and develop solutions, mitigating risks and overcoming issues, is a must.
Critical soft skills include innovative thinking / problem solving, working well within a team environment, and exceptional written and verbal communication.

Innovative thinking – forward thinking solutions to would-be problems or questions
Can-do attitude – working on a team and knowing the need to fill in and get hands dirty to get work done.
Due to the nature of government contract, US citizenship is required.
