Perficient IT firm building software development center in Lafayette
St. Louis-based Perficient announced today that it will build a software development center in Lafayette, creating 245 new direct jobs averaging $60,000 per year.
Perficient is an IT and management consulting firm that services a wide range of industries, including health care, financial services, retail, energy, electronics automotive and manufacturing.
Gov. Bobby Jindal was at the Lafayette Economic Development Authority office in Lafayette today to make the announcement with Perficient CEO Jeff Davis
In addition to the direct jobs, Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will result in 248 new indirect jobs, for a total of nearly 500 new jobs in the Acadiana region.
Perficient's announcement marks the third major software development and technology sector project in the Lafayette area this year. Perficient employs more than 2,200 people worldwide and brings in roughly $450 million a year in revenue.
Perficient plans to start hiring in the fourth quarter of 2014 and begin operating before the end of the year.
Perficient's goal is to reach employment of 50 by the end of 2015 and reach full employment of 245 within six years, when the company's annual payroll in Lafayette will exceed $16 million.
