LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: Direct Care - Weekends

The Direct Care Weekend Staff is responsible for supervising the operations of the shelter between the hours of 9:00 AM and 11:45 PM, Saturday and Sunday evening, along with providing support for service coordination. All employees are expected to learn and exhibit the core values of Catholic Charities of Acadiana as defined in the employee handbook and on the CCA website (catholiccharitiesacadiana.org/opportunities/).

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Center Supervision
• Supervise operations of facility in evenings
• Secure facility in the evening
• Answer telephone and take messages observing privacy standards at all times
• Screen facility guests observing privacy policy at all times
• Monitor smoking area and parking lot
• Coordinate and maintain front desk schedule and volunteers
• Provide crisis prevention/intervention and supportive counseling
• Ensure housekeeping tasks are performed by residents and facility is clean
• Provide transportation when necessary
• Contact on-call staff or director when an incident occurs that requires assistance
• Report maintenance problems to appropriate staff member
• Distribute supplies
• Coordinate freeze-plan
• Remain flexible with respect to shift changes as necessary
• Communicate regularly with the director
• Be courteous and polite at all times

Service Coordination Support
• Document that clients have been accounted for on bed list, turn in to Service Coordinator
• Maintain pertinent information in the shift report
• Document curfew infractions and report to appropriate case manager
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor
• Report to on-call staff immediately when 911 is called

Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• Two years of experience in social service-related field preferred


Job Specifications
Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 100% of the time.
