LEDA Virtual Job Fair

 

Employers interested in posting their job openings on the LEDA Virtual job fair (at no cost) can send job description, qualifications, and application method to LEDA's Director of Workforce Development by email.


In addition to posting your vacancies on LEDA's website, positions are also distributed to a network of workforce centers and educational institutions as appropriate.





Position: Staff Accountant

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Responsible for performing all accounting functions related to MPCS and its fundraising events, accurate accounting and documentation related to grants received, and overall assistance with administration of payroll and human resources operations as needed.

• Maintain bookkeeping and accounting records for donors, grantors, and vendors to include all general journal entries, cash accounts, and bill paying
• Monthly reporting of revenue and expense transactions, recording general journal entries and reconciliation of cash accounts
• Attending Fundraising events related to MPCS and supporting all financial functions as needed for each event
• Assist with Budget Preparation, reporting and analysis
• Maintaining accurate records for grants received by MPCS by obtaining supporting documents, proof of expenditures and reporting to the Executive Director all financial information needed to complete progress reports as required
• Review of time sheets and submission of payroll information to CPA for payroll preparation twice a month.
• Preparing new employee files and maintaining personnel files to track employee benefits, leave time and human resources communications as needed
• Preparation of monthly financial reports for executive management, and quarterly financial reports for Finance Committee and Board meetings
• Work with MPCS staff to ensure accuracy of donor gift records to accounting records and to assist with acknowledgements as needed
• Assist with audits and special projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:
Qualifications: The position requires experience in all aspects of accounting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and experience with QuickBooks is preferred. Non-profit accounting experience is a plus. Candidate should be a good-natured self-starter, have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and technology skills.
