Position Description:
- CGI is seeking a passionate and experienced Scrum Master to join our growing Agile team.
- The Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching the development team, and ensuring the successful implementation of Agile methodologies.
- This role is ideal for a highly collaborative and enthusiastic individual with a strong understanding of Scrum principles and a proven track record of enabling high-performing teams.
- This position is located in our Lafayette office with work performed at client site in Louisiana; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitate and guide all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Coach and mentor the development team on Agile practices and Scrum principles.
- Help the Product Owner manage the product backlog and prioritize user stories.
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress.
- Understand, visualize and manage upstream/downstream dependencies.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent work environment within the team.
- Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity.
- Continuously improve the team's Agile practices through retrospectives and process optimization.
- Work with other teams to coordinate development and integration testing across multiple teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, QA) to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Track team progress, metrics, and velocity.
- Stay up to date on the latest Agile trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile project management role.
- Strong understanding of Scrum principles, roles, artifacts, and ceremonies.
- Proven experience in facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with team members at all levels.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) a plus.
- Certified Scrum Master
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
- SAFe certification(s).
- Experience working as a Scum Master in the Federal environment.
